Kamikura Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2026/3/26

Aile(“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides Kamikura (the “App”) and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how user information is handled in the App.

1. Basic Policy

Kamikura is designed so that users can manage their PDF library primarily on their own devices or in their own cloud storage.
For normal use, the App does not require account registration and does not use analytics SDKs. The App is not built around sending personally identifiable information to our servers as a condition of use.

2. Information Handled by the App

The App may process or store the following information on the user’s device or in cloud storage selected by the user:

  • PDF files
  • Library information such as bibliographic metadata, titles, authors, genres, and tags
  • Bookshelf structure, shelf order, and smart bookshelf settings
  • Reading data such as reading position, bookmarks, annotations, and handwritten notes
  • Per-book reading settings such as display preferences and binding direction
  • Authentication credentials required for Google Drive / Dropbox integration

If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you provide in your message, such as your name, email address, and the content of your inquiry.

3. Purposes of Use

We use the information handled by the App for the following purposes:

  • To display, organize, search, and read PDFs as a bookshelf
  • To save reading position, bookmarks, annotations, and reading preferences so you can continue where you left off
  • To retrieve, sync, and display PDFs from storage locations such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, and Dropbox
  • To cache only the books you need on your device and optimize the reading experience
  • To respond to inquiries, verify requests, and handle deletion requests
  • To prevent misuse, respond to technical issues, and comply with applicable laws

4. Cloud Service Integrations

When you enable integration with iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, the App may access the folders or files you specify in order to retrieve, display, and sync PDFs.

Authentication credentials for Google Drive / Dropbox are stored using OS-provided secure storage and are used only for the App’s integration features.

5. Sharing with Third Parties

The App is not built on the assumption that your library or bookshelf data must be uploaded to our own servers in order to use the service.
Except where required by law, we do not sell or provide your personal information to third parties.

However, data stored in external services selected by you, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, is managed under your own account and control.

6. Retention and Deletion

If you delete a book from your device, related local data for that book, such as reading history, bookmarks, annotations, and handwritten data, may also be removed from the device.

If you uninstall the App, data stored locally by the App on your device will be deleted.
Files stored in iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud services remain under your control and should be managed or deleted by you.

7. Security Measures

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information against leakage, loss, or damage.
Authentication credentials required for cloud integrations are stored using OS-provided secure storage.
